Chapter 1
1. words of Nehemiah the son of Hacaliah,
2. now this happened in the month chislev in the 20th year.
3. while i was in susa the capitol,
4. Hanani 1 of my brothers with some men from Judah came.
5. i asked them concerning the Jews who had escaped,
6. who had survived the captivity and about Jerusalem.
7. they said to me a remnant is there in the province,
8. those that had survived the captivity are in great distress.
9. as a reproach the Walls of Jerusalem were broken down,
10. the gates were burned with fire.
11. came as i heard these words i sat down and wept,
12. mourned for days fasting and praying before the CREATOR in Heaven.
13. i said i beg You YHVH the CREATOR of the Heavens,
14. the Great and Awesome GOD.
15. Who preserves the Covenant,
16. by Lovingkindness to those who love You and keep Your Commandments.
17. let Your Ear now be attentive and Your Eyes open,
18. hear the prayer of Your Servant which i am praying before You now day and night.
19. on behalf of the sons of Israel Your Servants,
20. confessing the sins for the sons of Israel which we have sinned against You.
21. for i and my father's house have sinned,
22. having acted very corruptly against You.
23. having not kept the Commandments nor the Statutes nor the Ordinances,
24. which You Did Command Your Servant Moses.
25. remember the Words which You Did Command Your Servant Moses,
26. Saying if you are unfaithful I will scatter you among the peoples.
27. yet if you return to Me by keeping My Commandments and by doing Them,
28. though scattered to the most remote part of the heavens You will gather them from there.
29. You will bring them to this Place,
30. where You have Chosen Your Name to Dwell.
31. they are Your Servants and Your People whom You Did Redeem,
32. by Your Great Power and by Your Strong Hand.
33. LORD i beseech You,
34. may Your Ear be attentive to a prayer of Your Servant.
35. {{ to a prayer of Your Servant who's delight is to revere Your Name }
36. make Your Servant successful today,
37. and grant me compassion before this male.
Chapter 2
1. [[ now i am the cupbearer to the king. }}
2. came in the month nisan,
3. in the 20th year of king artaxerxes.
4. wine was to brought to him,
5. i took up the wine giving it to the king.
6. i had not been sad in his presence,
7. the king said why is your face sad though you are not sick?
8. i said this was nothing but sadness of heart,
9. for i was very much afraid talking to the king.
10. let the king live forever,
11. why should my face not be sad?
12. when the City of the place of my fathers' tombs lies desolated.
13. and the gates have been consumed by fire.
14. the king said what would you request?
15. for i had prayed to the CREATOR in Heaven.
16. i said to the king if this pleases the king?
17. if your servant has found favor before you.
18. send me to Judah.
19. to the City of my fathers' tombs that i may rebuild.
20. the king said to me,
21. for the queen was sitting beside him.
22. how long will your journey be?
23. and when will you return?
24. so this pleased the king to send me.
25. i gave him a definite time.
26. saying to the king if this pleases the king?
27. let letters be given me for the governors beyond the river.
28. that they may allow me to pass through until i come to Judah.
29. and a letter to Asaph the keeper of the king's forest.
30. that he may give me timber to make beams for the gates from the fortress.
31. {{ which is by the temple. }
32. for the Wall of the City and the house to which i will go.
33. so the king granted,
34. for the Good Hand of the CREATOR was on me.
35. then i came to the governors beyond the river,
36. i gave them the kings' letters.
37. {{ now the king had sent with me officers,
38. an army of horseman. }
39. when sanballat the horonite,
40. and tobiah the ammonite the officials had heard.
41. this was very displeasing to them,
42. that someone had come seeking the welfare of the sons of Israel.
43. i came to Jerusalem and was there 3 days,
44. i arose in the night with a few men with me.
45. i did not tell anyone what the CREATOR put in my mind to do for Jerusalem.
46. there was no animal with us except the animal on which i was riding.
47. i went out at night by the Valley Gate,
48. in the direction of the {{dragon's well.} Refuse Gate.
49. inspecting the Walls of Jerusalem which were broken down,
50. the gates were consumed by fire.
51. then i passed on to the Fountain Gate to the King's Pool,
52. there was no place for my mount to pass.
53. i went at night by the ravine to inspected the Wall,
54. i entered the Valley Gate again and returned.
55. the officials did not know where i had gone,
56. or what i had done.
57. nor had i as yet told the Jews or Priests nobles officials,
58. or the rest who did the work.
59. i said you see the bad situation we are in,
60. Jerusalem is desolated and the gates are burned from fire.
61. come let us rebuild the Wall of Jerusalem,
62. that we may no longer be a reproach.
63. i told them how the Hand of the CREATOR had been Favorable to me,
64. also about the king's words which had been spoken.
65. they said let us arise and build.
66. so they put their hands to the good-work.
67. when sanballat the horonite and tobiah the ammonite the officials,
68. with geshem the arab heard they mocked us.
69. to despise us they said what is this thing you are doing?
70. to rebel against the king?
71. i spoke saying,
72. the CREATOR in Heaven will give us success.
73. therefore we His Servants will arise and build,
74. but you have no portion right or memorial.
Chapter 3
1. {{ Eliashib the High Priest arose.
2. with his brothers the Priests and rebuilt the Sheep Gate.
3. consecrated it and hung doors.
4. they consecrated the Wall of the Tower of the Hundred and the Tower of Hananel.
5. next to him the men of jericho built.
6. next to them Zaccur the son of Imri built.
7. the sons of Hassenaah built the Fish Gate.
8. they laid the beams and hung the doors with bolts and bars.
9. next to them Meremoth the son of Uriah the son of Hakkoz made repairs.
10. next to him Meshullam the son of Berechiah the son of Meshezabel made repairs.
11. next to him Zadok the son of Baana also made repairs.
12. next to him the tekoites made repairs but their nobles did not support the work of their master.
13. Joiada the son of Paseah and Meshullam the son of Besodeiah repaired the Old Gate.
14. they laid the beams and hung the doors with bolts and bars.
15. next to Melatiah the gibeonite and Jadon the meronothite.
16. the men from gibeon and mizpah.
17. they also made repairs to the official seat for a governor beyond the river.
18. next to him Uzziel the son of Harhaiah the goldsmiths made repairs.
19. next to him Hananiah 1 of the performers made repairs.
20. restore Jerusalem as far as the Board Wall.
21. next to them Rephaiah the son of Hur the official with half of the district of Jerusalem made repairs.
22. next to them Judaiah the son of Harumaph made repairs opposite his house.
23. next to him Hattush the son of Hashabneiah made repairs.
24. Malchijah the son of Harim and Hasshub son of Azrikam {{ pahath-moab} repaired another section. {{tower of furnaces.}
25. {{next to him Shallum the son of Hallohesh the official.
26. with half the district of Jerusalem made repairs with his daughters }
27. Hanun and the inhabitants of zanoah repaired the Valley Gate.
28. they built and hung the doors with bolts and bars.
29. {{a 1,000 cubits of the wall to the Refuse Gate.}
30. Malichijah the son of Rechab the official of the district of beth-hacchereme repaired the Refuse Gate.
31. they built and hung the doors with bolts and bars.
32. Shallum the son of Col-hozeh the official of the district of mizpah repaired the Fountain Gate.
33. they built and hung the doors with bolts and bars.
34. also the wall by the pool of shelah in the king's garden.
35. as far as the steps that descend from the City of David.
36. after him Nehemiah the son of Azbuk the official with half the district of beth-zur made repairs.
37. as far as a point opposite the tombs of David.
38. as far as the Artificial Pool by the house of the mighty men.
39. after him the Levites carried out repairs under Rehum the son of Bani.
40. next to him Hashabiah the official with half the district of keilah.
41. they carried out repairs for his district.
42. after him their brothers carried out repairs.
43. under Bavvai the son of Henadad the official with half the district of keilah.
44. next to him Ezer the son of Jeshua the official of mizpah repaired another section.
45. in front of the ascent of the armory to the Angle.
46. after him Baruch the son of Zabbai zealously repaired another section.
47. from the Angle to the doorway for the house of Eliashib the High Priest.
48. after him Meremoth the son of Uriah the son of Hakkoz repaired another section.
49. from the doorway of Eliashib's house even as far as the end of his house.
50. after him the Priests with men of the valley carried out repairs.
51. after them Benjamin and Hasshub carried out repairs in front of their house.
52. after them Azariah the son of Maaseiah the son of Ananiah carried out repairs beside his house.
53. after him Binnui the son of Henadad repaired another section.
54. from the house Azariah to as far as the Angle.
55. and as far as the Corner.
56. Palal the son of Uzai was in front of the Angle in the Tower projecting.
57. {{ by the upper house of the king }
58. which is by the court of the guard.
59. after him Pedaiah the son of Parosh repaired
60. {{ the temple servants living in ophel }
61. as far as the front of the Water Gate,
62. {{ and toward the east by the projecting Tower }
63. {{ after him the tekoites repaired another section of the front of the great projecting Tower.
64. as far as the wall of ophel above the Horse Gate. }
65. the Priests carried out repairs each in front of his house.
66. after them Zadok the son of Immer carried out repairs in front of his house.
67. after him Shemaiah the son of Shecaniah the keeper of the East Gate carried out repairs.
68. after him Hananiah the son of Shelemiah and Hanun the 6th son of Zalaph repaired another section.
69. after him Meshullam the son of Berechiah carried out repairs in front of his own quarters.
70. after him Malchijah 1 of the goldsmiths carried out repairs.
71. as far as the house of the House servants.
72. to the merchants in front of the Inspection Gate.
73. as far as the Upper Room of the corner between the Upper Room of the corner and the Sheep Gate.
74. the Goldsmith and the Merchants carried out repairs. }
Chapter 4
1. came as sanballat heard we were rebuilding the Wall,
2. he became furious and very angry.
3. he mocked the Jews as he spoke in the presence of his brothers,
4. the wealthy of samaria.
5. said what are these feeble Jews doing?
6. are they going to restore this for themselves to Offer Sacrifices?
7. can they finish in a day?
8. can they revive the Stones from the dusty rubble?
9. {{ even the Burned Ones? }
10. now tobiah the ammonite was near him said,
11. even what they are building a fox should jump on will break their Stone Wall down.
12. hear CREATOR how we are despised,
13. return their reproach on their own heads.
14. give them up for plunder in the land of captivity,
15. do not forget their iniquity.
16. let not their sin be blotted out for before You,
17. for they have demoralized the builders.
18. we built the Wall and the whole Wall together,
19. together with half of the people with a mind to work.
20. came when saballat and tobiah and the arabs the ammonites and ashdodites heard,
21. that the repair for the Walls of Jerusalem went on and the breaches began to be closed.
22. they were very angry and all of them conspired together,
23. they came to fight against Jerusalem and to cause a disturbance.
24. we prayed to the CREATOR because of this,
25. we set up a guard against them day and night.
26. {{ thus of Judah this was said,
27. the strength of the burden bearers is failing.
28. yet there is much rubbish,
29. by theirselfes they are unable to rebuild the Wall. }
30. our enemies said they will not know or see,
31. either we come among them to kill them or put a stop to the work.
32. came when the Jews who lived near them came and told us 10 times,
33. they will come up against you from every place where you may turn.
34. then i stationed men in the lowest parts,
35. in the spaces behind the Wall and the exposed places.
36. i stationed the people by families,
37. with their swords spears and bows.
38. when i saw their fear i rose,
39. i spoke to the nobles officials and to the rest of the people do not be afraid of them.
40. remember the LORD Who is Great and Awesome.
41. He will fight for your brothers your sons your daughters and your wives. {{ your houses }
42. so this happened when our enemies heard,
43. it was known to us the CREATOR had frustrated their plan.
44. all of us returned to the Wall,
45. each one to his work.
46. came that day,
47. that half of my servants carried on the work.
48. while half of them held spears shields bows and breastplates,
49. the captains were behind them.
50. {{ the whole house of Judah was rebuilding the Wall and carrying this burden }
51. they took their load with 1 hand,
52. and did the work with the other holding a weapon.
53. as for the builders each had his sword girded at his side as they built.
54. the trumpeter was near me.
55. i said to the nobles officials and the rest of the people,
56. the work is great and extensive.
57. we are separated on the Wall,
58. far from one another.
59. at whatever place you hear the sound of the trumpet,
60. rally to us there for the CREATOR will fight for us.
61. so we carried on the work carring our spears,
62. from dawn until the stars appeared.
63. at that time i also said to the people,
64. let each male with his servant spend the night within Jerusalem.
65. so that they might be a guard for us by night,
66. and a laborer by day.
67. so neither i my brothers and my servants,
68. nor the men of the guard and those who followed me.
69. none of us removed our clothes,
70. each took his weapon even to the water.
Chapter 5
1. now there was a great outcry by the people,
2. their wives were against their Jewish brothers.
3. for there were those who said we and our sons and our daughters are many,
4. therefore get us grain that we may eat and live.
5. there were others who said we are mortgaging our fields our vineyards and our houses,
6. that we might get grain because of the famine.
7. also there were those who said we have borrowed money,
8. for the king's tax on our fields and our vineyards.
9. now our flesh is like the flesh of our brothers,
10. and our children like their children.
11. behold we are forcing our sons and our daughters to be slaves,
12. some of our daughters are forced into bondage.
13. {{ we are helpless because our fields and vineyards belong to others }
14. i was very angry when i had heard their outcry of these words,
15. we consulted and i myself contended with the nobles and the rulers.
16. i said you are exacting usury each from his brothers,
17. i held a great assembly against them.
18. i said we according to our ability we have Redeemed our Jewish brothers,
19. who were sold to the nations.
20. now would you even sell your brothers that they may be sold to us,
21. then they were silent and could not find words.
22. again i said the thing which you are doing is not good,
23. should you not walk with the fear of the CREATOR?
24. because of the reproach from the nations of our enemies,
25. likewise i my brothers and my servants are lending them money and grain.
26. please let us leave off this usury,
27. please give back to them this very day.
28. their fields their vineyards their olive groves and their houses,
29. also the 100th part of the money and grain new wine and oil that you are exacting from them.
30. they said we will give back and require nothing,
31. so doing exactly as you say.
32. so i called the Priests,
33. they took an Oath to do this Promise.
34. i also shook out the front of my garment,
35. saying thus may the CREATOR shake out every male from his house and his possessions who does not fulfill this Promise.
36. even thus may he be shaken out and emptied,
37. all the assembly said amen.
38. [[ they praised YHVH,
39. then the people did according to this Promise.
40. moreover that day i was appointed to be their governor in the Land of Judah,
41. from the 20th year to the 32nd year of king artaxerxes.
42. for 12 years neither i nor my kinsmen have eaten the governors food,
43. for the former governors who were before me laid burdens on the people.
44. they took from them bread and wine,
45. besides 40 shekels of silver.
46. even their servants domineered the people,
47. i did not do so because i fear the CREATOR.
48. i also applied myself to the work on this Wall,
49. i did not buy any land.
50. for all my servants were gathered there for the work,
51. at my table were 150 Jews and officials.
52. besides those who came to us,
53. from the nations that were around us.
54. now that which was prepared for each day,
55. 1 ox and 6 choice sheep.
56. also birds were prepared for me once in 10 days,
57. all sorts of wine were in abundance.
58. yet for all this i did not demand my governor's food,
59. because the servitude was heavy on this people.
60. remember me CREATOR for my good,
61. all that i have done for this Your People. ]
Chapter 6
1. {{ this came about when this was reported to sanballat and tobiah.
2. to geshem the arab and to the rest of our enemies.
3. that i had rebuilt the Wall,
4. and no breach remained.
5. [( although at that time i had not set up the doors in the gates. )]
6. that sanballat and geshem sent for me.
7. saying come let us meet together at chephirim in the plain of ono.
8. they were planning me no harm.
9. i sent messengers to them saying i am doing a great work and cannot come down.
10. why should the work stop?
11. while i leave and come down to you.
12. they sent to me 4 times in this manner.
13. i answered them in the same way.
14. then sanballat sent his servant to me.
15. in the same manner a 5th time.
16. an open letter was in his hand.
17. as written to be reported among the nations.
18. gashmu is saying i and the Jews are planning to rebel.
19. therefore you are rebuilding the Wall.
20. i was to be their king according to these reports.
21. also i appointed prophets to proclaim in Jerusalem concerning me as king in Judah.
22. now this will be reported to the king according to these reports.
23. come now let us take counsel together.
24. then i sent him saying such things you are saying have not been done.
25. you are inventing them in your own mind.
26. all-this is to frighten us to think and become discouraged with our hands.
27. for the work was done so-now strengthening our hands.
28. i entered the house of shemaiah the son of delaiah son of mehetabel.
29. who was confined at home.
30. he said let us meet together in the House for the CREATOR,
31. {{ within the temple } let us close the doors of {{ the temple. } House.
32. for they are coming to kill you,
33. they are coming to kill you at night.
34. i said should a male like me flee?
35. or could one such as i go into the temple to save his life?
36. i did not go in and perceived surely the CREATOR had not sent him.
37. he uttered prophecy against me because tobiah and sanballat had hired him.
38. he was hired for this reason.
39. that i might become frightened and act accordingly and sin.
40. so that they might have an evil report.
41. in order that they could reproach me.
42. remember CREATOR this tobiah and sanballat.
43. according to these works of theirs.
44. also noadiah the prophetess and the rest of the prophets.
45. who were trying to frighten me.
46. the Wall was completed on the 25th of the month elul in 52 days.
47. this came about when all our enemies heard.
48. that all the nations surrounding us saw and lost their confidence.
49. they recognized that this work had been accomplished with the Help of the CREATOR.
50. also in those days many letters went from the nobles of Judah to tobiah.
51. tobiah's letters came to them for many in Judah were bound by oath to him.
52. because he was the son-in-law of shecaniah the son of arah and his son jehohanan.
53. who had married the daughter of meshullam the son of berechiah.
54. moreover they were speaking of his good deeds in my presence and reported my words to him.
55. then tobiah sent letters to frighten me. }
Chapter 7
1. {{ this came about when the Wall was rebuilt.
2. i set up the doors and the gatekeepers singers and Levites were appointed.
3. i put Hanani my brother and Hananiah the commander of the fortress in charge of Jerusalem.
4. he was a faithful male and feared the CREATOR more than many.
5. i said to them do not let the gates of Jerusalem be opened until the sun is hot.
6. while they are standing guard let them shut and bolt the doors.
7. i appointed the guards from the inhabitants of Jerusalem.
8. each at his post and each in front of his own house.
9. now the City was large and spacious.
10. for the people in were few and the houses were not built.
11. the CREATOR put this into my heart.
12. to assemble the nobles officials and people as enrolled by genealogies.
13. i found the book of the genealogy of those who came up 1st.
14. for i found the following record of the people of the province who came up.
15. the captivities and the exiles whom nebuchadnezzar the king of babylon carried away.
16. who returned to Jerusalem and Judah to each his city.
17. those who came with Zerubbabel Jeshua Nehemiah Azariah Raamiah Nahamani Mordecai Bilshan Mispereth Begvai Nehum Baanah.
18. and numbering the men of the people of Israel.
19. sons of Parosh 2,172.

59. the sons of Solomon's servants the sons of Sotai sons of Sophereth sons of Perida sons of Jaala sons of Darkon sons of Giddel sons of Shephatiah sons of Hattil sons of Pochereth-hazzebaim sons of Amon.
60. all the temple servants and the sons of Solomon's servants were 392.
61. these were they who came up from tel-melah and tel-harsha Cherub Addon and Immer.
62. they could not show their fathers' houses or of their descendents of whether they were from Israel.
63. the sons of Delaiah sons of Tobiah sons of Nekoda 642.
64. of the Priests the sons of Hobaiah sons of Hakkoz sons of Barillai.
65. who took a wife of the daughters of barillai the gileadite and who was named after them.
66. these searches among their ancestral registration but this could not be located.
67. therefore they were considered unclean for the Priesthood.
68. the governor said that they should not eat from the Most Holy Things until a Priest arose with Urim and Thummim.
69. the whole assembly together was 42,360.
70. besides their male and their female servants of whom there were 7,337.
71. {{they had 245 male and female singers}
72. their horses were 736.

75. their donkeys 6,720.
76. some from among the Head Fathers' gave to the work of the governor.
77. they gave to the treasury 1,000 gold drachmas.

80. some of the Head Fathers' gave into the treasury for the work.
81. 20,000 gold drachmas and 2,200 silver minas.
82. which the rest of the people gave was 20,000 gold drachmas.
83. 2,000 silver minas for 67 Priests' Garments. }
Chapter 8
1. {{ the Priests Levites gatekeepers and singers and some of the people the temple servants.
2. all Israel lived in their cities.
3. the 7th month came and the sons of Israel were in their cities.
4. all the people gathered as 1 male at the square which was in front of the Water Gate.
5. they asked Ezra the scribe to bring the Book of the Law thru Moses.
6. which YHVH had Given to Israel.
7. Ezra the Priest brought the Law before the assembly.
8. to the men women and all who could listen with understanding.
9. on the 1st day of the 7th month he read before the square.
10. which was in front of the Water Gate from early morning til midday.
11. in the presence of men women and those who could understand.
12. all the people were attentive to the Book of Law.
13. Ezra the scribe stood at a wooden podium.
14. which they had made for that purpose.
15. beside him stood Mattithiah Shema Anaiah Uriah Hilkiah Maaseiah on his right hand.
16. Pedaiah Mishael Malchijah Hashum Hashbaddanah Zechariah Meshullam on his left hand.
17. Ezra opened the Book in the sight of all the people.
18. for he was standing above all the people.
19. when he opened all the people stood up.
20. Ezra blessed YHVH the GREAT CREATOR.
21. all the people answered amen amen while lifting up their hands.
22. then they bowed low and worshiped YHVH with their faces to the ground.
23. also Jeshua Bani Sherebiah Jamin Akkub Shabbethai Hodiah Maaseiah Kelita Azariah Jozabad Hanan Pelaiah.
24. the Levites explained the Law to the people while the people remained in their place.
25. they read the Book of Law from the CREATOR.
26. then translated to give insight so they understood the reading.
27. Nehemiah who was the governor and Ezra the Priest and scribe with the Levites taught the people.
28. they said to all the people this Day is Holy to YHVH the CREATOR.
29. so do not mourn or weep.
30. for all the people were weeping when they heard the Words of the Law.
31. they said go and eat of the fat and drink of the sweet.
32. send portions to him who has nothing prepared.
33. for this Day is Holy to the LORD-of-all.
34. do not be grieved for the joy of knowing YHVH is your Strength.
35. so the Levites calmed all the people.
36. saying be still for the day is Holy and do not be grieved.

89. according to Your Great Compassion.
90. You Gave them Deliverers who Delivered them from the hand of their oppressor.
91. as soon as they had rest they did evil again before You.
92. You abandoned them to the hand of their enemies to ruled over them.
93. they cried again and You Heard in Heaven.
94. many times You Did Rescue them according to Your Compassion.
95. You solemnly-warned them in order to turn them back to Your Law.
96. they acted arrogantly and did not listen to Your Commandments.
97. but sinned against you Your Ordinances.

17. i came to Jerusalem and learned about the evil eliashib had done for tobiah.

19. this was very displeasing to me.
20. i threw all of tobiah's household goods out of the room.

28. all Judah brought the Tithe from the grain wine and oil into the storehouses.
29. in charge of the storehouses i appointed.

6. i admonished them on the day they sold food.
7. also men of tyre were living there who imported fish and all kinds of merchandise.
8. selling them to the sons of Judah on the Sabbath even in Jerusalem.
9. then i reprimanded the nobles of Judah.
10. saying what is this evil thing you are doing by profaning the Sabbath Day?
11. did not your fathers do the same that the CREATOR Brought on This to us and on this City all this trouble.
12. yet you are adding Wrath on Israel by profaning the Sabbath.
13. came about that just as it grew dark.
14. at the gates of Jerusalem before the Sabbath.
15. i commanded that the doors should be shut.
16. they should not open them until after the Sabbath.
17. then i stationed some of my servants at the gates.
18. that no load should enter on the Sabbath Day.
19. once or twice the traders and merchants of every kind of merchandise spent the night outside Jerusalem.
20. i warned them saying why do you spend the night in front of the Wall?
21. if you do so again i will use force against you.
22. from that time on they did not come on the Sabbath.
23. i commanded the Levites that they should purify themselves.
24. come to the gatekeepers to vindicate them on the Sabbath Day.
25. for this also remember me CREATOR.
26. have Compassion on me according to the Greatness of Your Lovingkindness.
27. in those days i also saw that the Jews had married women from ashdod ammon and moab.
28. for their children half spoke in the language of ashdod.
29. none were able to speak the language of Judah.
30. the language of their own people.
31. i contended with them by cursing them and struck some of them.
32. i pulled out their hair and made them Swear by the CREATOR.
33. you shall not give your daughters to their sons.
34. nor take of their daughters for your sons or for yourself.
35. did not Solomon king of Israel sin regarding these things.
36. yet among the many nations there was no king like him for he was Loved by our CREATOR.
37. the CREATOR made him king over all Israel.
38. nevertheless the foreign women caused him to sin.
39. i hear you have committed all this great evil.
40. by acting unfaithfully against the CREATOR by marrying foreign women?
