JEREMIAH
Chapter 1 ( part 1 )
1. the words of Jeremiah the son of Hilkiah
2. to the Priests who were in anathoth in the Land of Benjamin
3. to whom the Word from YHVH came in the days of Josiah the son of
Amon king of Judah
4. in the 13th year of his reign
5. came in the days of jehoiakim
6. the son of Josiah king of Judah
7. until the end of the 11th year of zedekiah the son of Josiah king of Judah
8. until the exile of Jerusalem in the 5th month
9. the Word from YHVH came to me Saying
10. before I formed you in the womb I Knew you
11. before you were born I Consecrated you
12. I have Appointed you a Prophet to the nations
13. i said alas LORD YHVH behold
14. i do not know how to speak because i am a youth
15. YHVH Said do not say i am a youth
16. because everywhere I Send you you shall go
17. all I Command you shall speak
18. do not be afraid of them for I AM with you to Deliver you Declares YHVH
19. YHVH Stretched Out HIS Hand and Touched my mouth
20. YHVH Said behold I have put MY Words in your mouth
21. see I have Appointed you this day over the nations
22. over the kingdoms to pluck up and to break down
23. to destroy and to overthrow
24. to build and to plant
Chapter 1 ( part 2 ) 1:11
25. the Word from YHVH came Saying what do you see Jeremiah?
26. i said i see a rod of an almond tree
27. YHVH Said you have seen well
28. for I AM watching over MY Word to Perform Them
29. the Word from YHVH came to me a 2nd time
30. Saying what do you see?
31. i said i see a boiling pot
32. facing away from the north
33. YHVH Said out of the north
34. evil will break forth on all the inhabitants of the Land
35. behold I AM Calling
36. all the families of the kingdoms of the north
37. Declares YHVH they will come
38. they will set each one his throne at the entrance of the gates of Jerusalem
39. against all the Walls and round about
40. against all the cities of Judah
41. I will Pronounce MY Judgments on them
42. concerning all their wickedness
43. whereby they have forsaken ME by offering sacrifices to another creator
44. worshiping the works of their own hands
45. now gird up your loins
46. arise and speak to them all which I Command you
47. do not be dismayed before them
48. lest I dismay you before them
49. behold I have Made you today as a fortified city
50. with pillars of iron and walls of bronze
51. against the Whole Land
52. and to the kings of Judah
53. their princes their Priests
54. and to the people of the Land
55. they will fight against you but not overcome you
56. for I AM with you to Deliver you Declares YHVH
Chapter 2 2:1
1. the Word from YHVH came to me Saying
2. go proclaim in the ears of Jerusalem
3. say thus Says YHVH
4. I Remember concerning you
5. the devotion of your youth
6. the love of your betrothals
7. your following after ME in the wilderness
8. through a land not sown
9. Israel was Holy to YHVH
10. the 1st of HIS Harvest
11. all who ate from became guilty
12. evil came upon them Declares YHVH
13. hear the Word from YHVH house of Jacob
14. all the families of the house of Israel
15. thus Says YHVH
16. what injustice did your fathers find in ME?
17. you went far from ME
18. you walked after emptiness and became empty
19. they did not say where is YHVH?
20. WHO Brought us Up out of the land of egypt
21. WHO Led us through the wilderness
22. through a land of deserts and pits
23. through a land of drought and deep darkness
24. through a land that no one crossed and where no male dwelt
25. I Brought you into the Fruitful Land
26. to eat the fruits and the good things
27. but you came and defiled MY Land
28. MY Inheritance you made them an abomination
29. the priests did not say where is YHVH?
30. those who handle the Law did not know ME
31. the rulers also transgressed against ME and the prophets prophesied by baal
32. they walked after things that did not profit them
33. therefore I will yet contend with you Declares YHVH
34. with your sons' sons I will contend
35. for cross to the coastlands of kittim and see
36. send to kedar and observe closely
37. see if there has been such a as this
38. has a nation changed creators when they were not creators
39. MY People have changed their Glory
40. for that which does not profit
41. be appalled heavens at this
42. shudder for they will be very desolate Declares YHVH
43. for MY People have committed 2 evils
44. they have forsaken ME.
45. {{ the Fountain of Living Water
46. they hew for themselves cisterns
47. broken cisterns that can hold no water}
48. is Israel a slave?
49. or is he a homeborn servant?
50. why has he become prey?
51. the young lions have roared at him
52. they have roared loudly to make his Land a waste
53. his cities have been destroyed without inhabitant
54. also the men of memphis and tahpanhes have shaved the crown of your head
55. have you not done this to yourself?
56. by your forsaking YHVH your CREATOR
57. when they led you from in MY Way
58. now what are you doing on the road to egypt?
59. to drink the waters of the nile?
60. or what are you doing on the road to assyria?
61. to drink the waters? {{ euphrates}
62. your own wickedness will correct you
63. your apostasies will reprove you
64. know and see
65. this is evil and bitter for you to forsake YHVH your CREATOR
66. the dread of ME is not in you Declares LORD YHVH of Hosts
67. for long ago I broke your yoke and tore off your bonds
68. you said i will not serve
69. for on every high hill and under every green tree you have lain
down as a harlot
70. yet I planted you as a Choice Vine
71. a Completely Faithful Seed
72. how then have you turned yourself before ME?
73. into the degenerate shoots of a foreign vine?
74. although you wash yourself with lye
75. and using much soap
76. the stain of your iniquity is before ME
77. Declares LORD YHVH
78. how can you say i am not defiled
79. have you not gone after the baals?
80. look at your way in the valley
81. know what you have done
82. {{ you are a swift young camel
83. entangled by her ways
84. as a wild donkey accustomed to the wilderness
85. sniffing the wind of her passion as she is in heat
86. who can turn her away
87. all who seek her do not they become weary in her month until they find her
88. keeping your feet from being unshod}
89. your throat has thirst
90. but you said this is hopeless
91. no you have loved strangers
92. after them you walk
93. as the thief is shamed
94. when he is discovered
95. so the house of Israel is shamed of their kings
96. their princes their priests their prophets
97. who says to a tree you are my father
98. to a stone you gave me birth
99. for they have turned their back and their faces
100. in the time of their trouble they will say arise and save us
101. where is your creator which you made for yourself?
102. let them arise if they can
103. save you in the time of your trouble
104. as the number of your cities so are your creators Judah
105. why do you contend with ME?
106. you have all transgressed against ME Declares YHVH
107. in vain I have struck your sons
108. yet they accepted no chastening
109. {{ your sword has devoured your Prophets like a destroying lion
110. generation heed the Word from YHVH}
111. have I been a wilderness to Israel?
112. or a land of thick darkness?
113. why do MY People say we may roam?
114. we will come no more to YOU
115. can a virgin forget her ornaments?
116. or a bride her attire?
117. yet MY People have forgotten ME
118. for days without number
119. {{ how well you prepare your way to seek love
120. therefore even the wicked women have taught you their ways}
121. also on your skirts is found the lifeblood
122. the innocent and poor you did not find them breaking in
123. in spite of all these things you said i am innocent
124. surely HIS Anger has turned away from me
125. behold will I enter into Judgment with you?
126. because you say i have not sinned
127. why do you go?
128. so much changing your way?
129. also you shall be put to shame by egypt
130. as you were put to shame by assyria
131. from this place also
132. you are going out with your hands on your head
133. YHVH has rejected those in whom you trust
134. you shall not prosper with them ]
135. say if a husband divorces his wife
136. she goes to belong to another male will he still return to her?
137. {{ will not that Land be completely polluted}
138. but you are a harlot with many lovers
139. yet you turn to ME Declares YHVH
140. lift up your eyes to the bare heights
141. see where have you not violated
142. by the roads you have sat for them
143. like an arab in the desert
144. you have polluted your Land
145. by your harlotries and your wickedness
146. therefore the showers have been withheld
147. there has been no spring rain
148. yet you had a harlot
149. and you refused to be ashamed
150. have you not just now called to ME?
151. FATHER my Friend from my youth
152. will YOU be angry forever?
153. will YOU be indignant to the end?
154. behold you have spoken
155. you done evil things having your way
Chapter 3 3:6
1. YHVH Said in the days of Josiah the king
2. have you seen what faithless Israel did?
3. she went up on every high hill
4. under every green tree she was a harlot there
5. I Thought after she has done all these things she will return to ME
6. but she did not return
7. her treacherous sister Judah has saw this
8. saw all the adulteries of faithless Israel
9. I had Sent her away
10. Given her a writ of divorce
11. yet her treacherous sister Judah did not fear
12. but she went to be a harlot also
13. came because of the lightness of her harlotry
14. she polluted the Land
15. committed adultery with stones and trees
16. yet in spite of all this
17. her treacherous sister Judah did not return to ME with all her heart
18. but rather in deception Declares YHVH
19. YHVH Said faithless Israel has proved herself
20. more righteous than treacherous Judah
21. go and proclaim these words toward the north
22. say return faithless Israel Declares YHVH
23. I will not Look upon you in Anger for I AM Gracious
24. Says YHVH I will not be Angry Forever
25. only acknowledge your iniquity
26. that you have transgressed against YHVH your CREATOR
27. you have scattered your favors to strangers under every green tree
28. you have not Obeyed MY Voice Declares YHVH
29. return faithless sons Declares YHVH
30. I AM a MASTER to you.
31. I will take you 1 from a city
32. 2 from a family as I Bring you to Zion
33. I will Give you shepherds after MY Own Heart
34. who will feed you knowledge and understanding
35. this shall be in those days
36. when you are multiplied and increased in the Land
37. Declares YHVH they shall say no more Ark with the Covenant for YHVH
38. this shall not come to mind
39. nor shall they remember nor shall they miss This
40. nor shall This be made again
41. at that time they shall call Jerusalem the Throne for YHVH
42. all the nations will be gathered to Jerusalem for the Name YHVH
43. nor shall they walk anymore after the stubbornness of their evil heart
44. in those days the house of Judah will walk with the house of Israel
45. they will come together from the land of the north
46. to the Land I Gave to your fathers as an Inheritance
47. I Said how will I set you among MY Sons as to Give you the Pleasant Land?
48. the Most Beautiful Inheritance of the nations
49. I Said you shall call to ME my FATHER
50. you will not turn away from following ME
51. surely as a woman treacherously departs from her lover
52. you have dealt treacherously with ME house of Israel
53. Declares YHVH a voice is heard on the bare heights
54. the weeping and the supplications of the sons of Israel
55. because they have perverted their way
56. they have forgotten YHVH their CREATOR
57. return faithless sons
58. I will Heal your faithlessness
59. behold come to ME
60. I AM YHVH your CREATOR
61. surely the hills are a deception
62. a tumult on the mountains
63. surely I AM YHVH your CREATOR
64. the Salvation of Israel
65. your shameful ways have consumed the labor of your fathers
66. since your youth their flocks their herds their sons and their daughters
67. you lie down in your shame
68. your humiliation covers you
69. for you have sinned against YHVH your CREATOR
70. you and your fathers since your youth
71. even to this day
72. you have not obeyed the Voice of YHVH your CREATOR
73. if you will return Israel
74. Says YHVH return to ME
75. only put away your detestable things
76. and in MY Presence do not waver
77. take an Oath to YHVH
78. to live in truth
79. in justice and righteousness
80. then the nations will bless themselves by ME and have Glory
Chapter 4 4:3
1. thus Says YHVH
2. to the men of Judah and to Jerusalem
3. break up your fallow ground
4. do not sow among thorns
5. circumcise yourselves to YHVH
6. remove the foreskins of your heart
7. men of Judah
8. and inhabitants of Jerusalem
9. lest MY Wrath go forth
10. like fire and burn
11. with none to quench
12. because of the evil of your deeds
13. declare in Judah
14. proclaim in Jerusalem
15. say blow the trumpet in the Land
16. cry aloud
17. say assemble yourselves
18. let us go into the fortified cities
19. lift up a standard toward Zion
20. seek refuge do not stand still
21. I AM Bringing evil from the north
22. a Great Destruction
23. a Lion has gone up from His thicket
24. a Destroyer of nations has set out
25. He has gone out from His place
26. to make your Land a waste
27. your cities will be ruins
28. without inhabitant
29. for this put on sackcloth
30. lament and wail
31. for the Fierce Anger of YHVH
32. has not turned back from us
33. come in that Day Declares YHVH
34. the heart of the king and the heart of the princes will fail
35. the Priests will be appalled
36. the Prophets will be astounded
37. i said ah LORD YHVH
38. surely YOU have Utterly Deceived this people
39. to Jerusalem Saying you will have peace
40. whereas a sword touches the throat
41. in that time this will be Said
42. to this people and to Jerusalem
43. a scorching wind from the bare heights and wilderness
44. in the direction of the daughter of MY People
45. not to winnow and not to cleanse
46. the wind is too strong
47. this comes at MY Command
48. now I will also Pronounce Judgments against them
49. {{ behold they go up like clouds
50. their chariots like the whirlwind
51. their horses are swifter than eagles
52. woe to us for we are ruined}
53. wash your heart from evil
54. that Jerusalem may be saved
55. how long?
56. for your wicked thoughts lodge within you
57. for a Voice declares from Dan
58. and proclaims wickedness to mount Ephraim
59. report this to the nations
60. now proclaim over Jerusalem
61. besiegers come from a far country
62. lifting their voices against the cities of Judah
63. like watchmen of a field they are against her round about
64. because she has rebelled against ME Declares YHVH
65. your ways and your deeds
66. have brought these things to you
67. this is your evil and how bitter
68. see how this has touched your heart
69. MY Soul
70. MY Soul I AM in Anguish
71. oh MY Heart
72. MY Heart is pounding in me
73. I cannot be silent
74. because I have Heard
75. MY Soul the sound of the trumpet
76. the alarm of war
77. disaster on disaster is proclaimed
78. the Whole Land is devastated
79. suddenly MY Tents are devastated
80. MY Curtains in an instant
81. how long must I See the Standard?
82. or Hear the sound of the trumpet?
83. for MY People are foolish
84. they know ME not
85. they are stupid children
86. they have no understanding
87. they are shrewd to do evil
88. but to do good they do not know
89. {{ I Looked on the earth
90. behold this was formless and void
91. to the heavens and they had no light
92. I Looked on the mountains
93. behold they were quaking
94. all the hills moved to and fro
95. I Looked and behold
96. there was no male
97. all the birds of the heavens had fled
98. I Looked and behold
99. the Fruitful Land was a wilderness
100. all the cities were pulled down before YHVH
101. before MY Fierce Anger}
Chapter 5 4:27
1. for thus Says YHVH
2. the Whole Land shall be a desolation
3. yet I will not Execute a Complete Destruction
4. for this the earth shall mourn
5. the heavens above will be dark
6. because I have Spoken and Purposed
7. I will not change MY Mind
8. nor will I turn
9. at the sound of the horseman and bowman
10. every city flees
11. they go into the thickets
12. climb among the rocks
13. every city is forsaken
14. no male dwells in them
15. you desolate one
16. what will you do?
17. although you dress in scarlet
18. although you decorate yourself with ornaments of gold
19. although you enlarge your eyes with paint
20. in vain you make yourself beautiful
21. your lovers despise you
22. they seek your life
23. for I Heard a cry as of a woman in labor
24. the anguish of one giving birth
25. her 1st child
26. the cry of the daughter of Zion gasping for breath
27. stretching out her hands
28. saying ah woe is me for i faint before murderers
29. roam to and fro
30. through the streets of Jerusalem
31. look now
32. take note
33. seek in her open squares
34. if you can find a male
35. if there is one who does justice and seeking truth
36. I will Pardon her
Chapter 6 5:2
1. {{ although they say as YHVH Lives
2. surely they swear falsely
3. YHVH do not YOUR Eyes look for truth?
4. YOU have smitten and weaken us
5. i consumed them but they refused to take correction
6. they have made their faces harder than rock
7. they have refused to repent
8. then i said nevertheless
9. they are poor and foolish
10. they do not know the way of YHVH
11. or the Ordinance of their CREATOR
12. i will go to the great and will speak to them
13. will they know the Way of YHVH
14. the Ordinance of their CREATOR
15. but they too with one accord have broken the yoke
16. they have broke-apart the bonds
17. therefore a lion from the forest shall slay them
18. a wolf of the deserts shall destroy them
19. a leopard is watching their cities
20. everyone who goes out of them shall be torn in pieces
21. because their transgressions are many and their apostasies are numerous
22. why should i pardon you?
23. your sons have forsaken ME
24. sworn by those who are not gods
25. when i had fed them to the full
26. they committed adultery
27. they trooped to the harlot's house
28. they were well-fed lusty horses
29. each 1 neighing after his neighbor's wife
30. shall i not punish these Declares YHVH
31. a nation such as this
32. shall i not avenge MYSELF
33. go up through her vine rows and destroy
34. do not execute a complete destruction
35. strip away her branches
36. for they are not YHVH's
37. the house of Israel and the house of Judah have dealt very
treacherously with ME Declares YHVH
38. they have lied about YHVH
39. said HIS Misfortunes will not come on us
40. we will not see sword or famine
41. the prophets are as wind
42. the Word is not in them
43. thus this will not be done}
Chapter 7 5:13
1. therefore thus Says YHVH the CREATOR of hosts
2. because you have spoken this word
3. behold I AM making MY Words in your mouth as fire
4. this people as wood to consume them
5. behold I AM bringing a nation against you
6. from afar to the house of Israel Declares YHVH
7. an enduring nation
8. an ancient nation
9. a nation whose language you do not know
10. nor can you understand what they say
11. their quiver is like an open grave
12. all of them are mighty men
13. they will devour your harvest and your food
14. devour your sons and your daughters
15. devour your flocks and your herds
16. devour your vines and your fig trees
17. they will demolish you with the sword
18. your fortified cities in which you trust
19. yet even in those days Declares YHVH
20. I will not make you a Complete Destruction
21. come when they say
22. why has YHVH our CREATOR Done all these things to us?
23. say you have forsaken HIM by serving a foreign creator in your Land
24. so you shall serve strangers in a land that is not yours
25. declare this in the house of Jacob
26. proclaim this in Judah
27. say hear this foolish and senseless people
28. you have eyes but see not you have ears but hear not
29. do you not fear ME Declares YHVH?
30. do you not tremble at MY Presence?
31. for I have placed the sand as a boundary for the sea
32. an eternal decree so this cannot cross over
33. though the waves toss they cannot prevail
34. though they roar they cannot cross over
35. but this people has a stubborn and rebellious heart
36. they have turned aside and departed
37. {{ saying in their heart
38. let us now fear YHVH our CREATOR
39. giving rain with season
40. both the autumn rain and the spring rain
41. keeps for us the appointed weeks of the harvest
42. your iniquities have turned these away
43. your sins have withheld good from you}
44. for wicked men are found among MY People
45. they watch like a trapper lying in wait
46. setting a trap to catch men
47. like a cage full of birds
48. their houses are full of deceit
49. therefore they have become great and rich
50. they are fat and they are sleek
51. they also excel in deeds of wickedness
52. they do not plead for justice
53. or the cause of the orphan
54. prospering they do not defend the rights of the poor
55. shall I not punish these Declares YHVH
56. a nation such as this
57. shall I not avenge MYSELF on these
58. their appalling and horrible things
59. this happens in the Land
60. their prophets prophesy falsely
61. their priests rule in their own authority
62. MY People love this so
63. but what will you do to end this?
Chapter 8 6:1
1. flee for safety sons of Benjamin
2. from the midst of Jerusalem
3. blow a trumpet in tekoa
4. raise a signal over beth-haccerem
5. for evil looks down
6. from the north a great destruction
7. the comely and dainty one
8. the daughter of Zion I will cut off
9. shepherds and their flocks will come to her
10. they will pitch their tents around her
11. they will pasture each in his place
12. prepare for war against her
13. arise
14. let us attack at noon
15. woe to us for the day declines
16. the shadows of the evening lengthen
17. arise
18. let us attack by night
19. destroy her palaces
20. for thus Says YHVH of Hosts
21. cut down her trees
22. cast up a siege against Jerusalem
23. this is the City to be punished
24. in whose midst there is only oppression
25. as a well keeps water fresh
26. so she keeps fresh her wickedness
27. violence and destruction are heard in her
28. sickness and wounds are ever before ME
29. be warned Jerusalem
30. lest I be alienated from you
31. lest I make you a desolation
32. a Land not inhabited
Chapter 9 6:9
1. thus Says YHVH of Hosts
2. they will thoroughly glean as a vine the remnant of Israel
3. as a passing of your hand again
4. like a grape gatherer over the branches
5. to whom shall I Speak?
6. to give warning that they may hear
7. behold their ears are closed
8. they cannot listen
Chapter 10 6:10.3
1. behold the Word from YHVH
2. becoming a reproach to them having no delight in them
3. i am full of the wrath of YHVH
4. i am weary of this enduring
5. this pouring out on the children in the street
6. on the gathering of young men
7. together both husband and wife shall be taken
8. the aged and the very old
9. their houses shall be turned over to others
10. their fields and their wives together
11. I will stretch out MY Hand against them
12. and on the inhabitants of the Land Declares YHVH
13. from the least even to the greatest
14. everyone is greedy for gain
15. from the prophet even to the priest
16. everyone deals falsely
17. have they healed their brokenness?
18. MY People superficially
19. saying peace peace but there is no peace
20. they are ashamed because of the abomination they have done
21. they were not even ashamed at all
22. they did not even know how to blush
23. therefore they shall fall among those who fall
24. at the time I punishment they will be cast down Says YHVH
