28. curse their KING and their CREATOR as they face upward.
29. they will look to the earth,
30. behold distress and darkness.
31. the gloom of anguish,
32. for they are driven away into darkness.
33. there will be no gloom,
34. who was in anguish as in earlier times.
35. as He treated the land of zebulun,
36. the land of naphtali with contempt. }
37. later on He shall make it Glorious by the way of the sea,
38. on the other side of jordan by galilee.
39. the gentiles of the people,
40. who walk in darkness will see a GREAT LIGHT.
41. those who live in a dark land a LIGHT will SHINE on them,
42. He shall multiply the nation by increasing their gladness.
43. they will be glad by His Presence like the gladness of a harvest,
44. like men rejoice when they divide the spoil.
45. for He shall break the yoke of their burden and the staff on their shoulders,
46. the rod of their oppressor as at the battle of midian.
47. for every boot of the booted warrior a tumult,
48. as a cloak rolled in blood will be for burning fuel for the fire.
49. for a Child will be born to us,
50. a Son will be given to us.
51. the government will rest on His Shoulders.
52. His Name will be called Wonderful Counselor,
53. the Mighty GOD,
54. Eternal FATHER Prince of Peace.
55. there is no end to the increase of His Government,
56. or of peace on the throne of David.
57. He is over His Kingdom to Establish it.
58. upholding it with Justice and Righteousness.
59. from then on and forevermore,
60. the Zeal of YHVH of Hosts will accomplish this.
Chapter 11
1. YHVH sends a message against Jacob,
2. it falls on Israel for all the people to know.
3. to ephraim and the inhabitants of samaria,
4. asserting in pride with arrogance of heart.
5. they said the bricks have fallen down,
6. but we will rebuild with smooth stones.
7. the sycamores have been cut down,
8. but we will replace them with cedars.
9. YHVH Raises against them adversaries,
10. with rezin spuring their enemies on.
11. the arameans on the east and the philistines on the west,
12. they will devour Israel with gaping jaws.
13. {{ in all this His Anger does not turn away,
14. for His Hand is still Stretched Out.}
15. {{ yet the people do not turn back to Him Who Struck them,
16. nor do they seek YHVH of Hosts. }
17. YHVH cuts off the head and tail from israel,
18. the palm branch and bulrush in a single day.
19. the head is the elder,
20. a male prophet who teaches falsehood is the tail.
21. for those who guide this people are leading them astray,
22. those who are guided by them are brought to confusion.
23. therefore the LORD does not take Pleasure in their young men,
24. nor does He have Pity on their orphans or their widows.
25. for every one of them is a godless evildoer,
26. every mouth is speaking foolishness.
27. {{ in all this His Anger does not turn away,
28. His Hand is still Stretched Out. }
29. for wickedness will burn,
30. like a fire consuming briars and thorns.
31. setting the thickets of the forest aflame,
32. they roll upward in a column of smoke.
33. by the Fury of YHVH of Hosts the Land is burned up,
34. the people are fuel for the fire.
35. as no male is there,
36. who can spare his brother.
37. {{ they slice off the right hand,
38. they are hungry and eat with the left hand.
39. they are not satisfied,
40. as each eats the flesh of his own arm.
41. manasseh ephraim and ephraim manasseh,
42. together they are against Judah. }
43. {{ in all this His Anger does not turn away,
44. for His Hand is still Stretched Out }
45. woe to those who enact evil statutes,
46. those who constantly record unjust decisions to deprive the needy of justice.
47. they rob the poor and My People of their rights,
48. in order that widows may be their spoil and to plunder the orphans.
49. what will you do on the Day of Punishment?
50. the devastation which will come from afar?
51. to whom will you flee for help,
52. where will you leave your wealth?
53. for nothing remains but to crouch among the captives,
54. or fall among the slain.
55. {{ in all this His Anger does not turn away,
56. for His Hand is still Stretched Out }
57. woe to assyria the rod of My Anger,
58. the staff in whose hands is My Indignation.
59. I send against you a godless nation,
60. commissioned against the people for My Fury.
61. to capture the booty,
62. to seize the plunder.
63. to trample you down,
64. like mud in the streets.
65. they do not so intend,
66. nor do they plan so in their heart.
67. rather their purpose is to destroy,
68. to cut off many nations.
69. for they say are not my princes all kings?
70. is not calno like carchemish?
71. or hamath like arpad?
72. or samaria like damascus?
73. my hand has reached to the kingdoms with idols,
74. whose graven images were greater than those of jerusalem and samaria.
75. shall I not Do to jerusalem and her images?
76. just as I have Done to samaria and her idols.
77. when the LORD completes all His Work,
78. for Mount Zion and for Jerusalem.
79. He will punish the fruit of the arrogant heart,
80. like the king of assyria for their pomp and haughtiness.
81. for he has said by the power of my hand and by my wisdom i did this,
82. i have understanding and removed the boundaries of the peoples.
83. i plundered their treasures,
84. like a mighty male i brought down their inhabitants.
85. my hand reached to the riches of the peoples,
86. like a nest as one gathers abandoned eggs.
87. i gathered from all the earth,
88. not 1 flapped their wings or opened their beak to chirp.
89. is the axe to boast itself over the one who chops with it?
90. is the saw to exalt itself over the one who wields it?
91. like a club wielding as those who lift it,
92. like a rod for lifting is not wood.
93. therefore the LORD-of-all,
94. the LORD of Hosts.
95. sends a wasting disease,
96. among his stout warriors.
97. below His GLORY a Fire is kindled,
98. like a Burning Flame.
99. the LIGHT of Israel will become a Fire,
100. His HOLY ONE a Flame.
101. burning to devour His thorns,
102. His briars in a single day.
103. He will destroy the Glory of His Forest,
104. and His Fruitful Garden.
105. both soul and body,
106. as a sick male wasting away.
107. for the rest of the trees of His Forest,
108. as a number a child could write them down.
109. come about on that Day for the remnant of Israel,
110. and those of the house of Jacob who have escaped.
111. never again relying on the one who struck them,
112. but will truly rely on YHVH the HOLY ONE of Israel.
113. a remnant will return,
114. the remnant of Jacob to their Mighty GOD.
115. though your people Israel may be like the sand of the sea,
116. only a remnant within them will return.
117. a destruction is determined,
118. overflowing with Righteousness for a complete destruction.
119. one that is Decreed from the LORD,
120. YHVH of Hosts will Execute-This in the midst of the Whole Land.
121. therefore thus Says LORD YHVH of Hosts,
122. My People who dwell on Zion.
123. do not fear the assyrian who strikes you with the rod,
124. lifting up his staff against you the way egypt did.
125. in a very little while My Indignation will be spent on them,
126. My Anger is their destruction.
127. YHVH of Hosts will bring a scourge against them,
128. like the slaughter of midian and by the rock of oreb.
129. My Staff will be over the sea,
130. I will lift My Ways as in egypt.
131. that day their burden will be removed from your shoulders,
132. their yoke from your neck.
133. {{ the yoke will be broken,
134. because of fatness he has come against aiath.
135. he has passed through migron,
136. at michmash he deposited his baggage.
137. they have gone through the pass,
138. saying geba will be our lodging place.
139. ramah is terrified,
140. gibeah of Saul has fled away.
141. cry aloud with your voice daughter of gallim,
142. pay attention laishah.
143. wretched anathoth,
144. madmenah has fled.
145. the inhabitants of gebim have sought refuge,
146. yet today he will halt at nob.
147. he shakes his fist at the Mountain,
148. and to the daughter of Zion on the Hill of Jerusalem.}
Chapter 12
1. behold the LORD-of-all,
2. YHVH of Hosts will lop off the boughs with a terrible crash.
3. those who are tall in stature will be cut down,
4. those who are lofty will be abased.
5. He will cut down the thickets of the forest with an iron axe,
6. lebanon will fall from the Mighty One.
7. a Shoot will spring from the stem of Jesse,
8. a Branch from his roots will bear fruit.
9. the SPIRIT of YHVH will rest on Him,
10. the Spirit of Wisdom and Spirit of Understanding.
11. the Spirit of Counsel and Spirit of Strength,
12. the Spirit of Knowledge and Spirit of Fear of YHVH are His Delight.
13. {{ by the fear of YHVH }
14. He will not Judge by what His Eyes See,
15. nor make a Decision by what His Ears Hear.
16. with Righteousness He will Judge the poor,
17. Decide with Fairness for the afflicted of the earth.
18. He will Strike the earth with the Rod of His Mouth,
19. with the Breath of His Lips He will slay the wicked.
20. Righteousness is a belt about His Loins,
21. Faithfulness is a belt about His Waist.
22. the wolf will dwell with the lamb,
23. the leopard will lie down with the kid.
24. the calf with the young lion,
25. the fatlings together.
26. a Little Boy will Lead them,
27. the cow and the bear will graze.
28. their young will lie down together,
29. the lion will eat straw like the ox.
30. the nursing child will play by the hole of the cobra,
31. the weaned child will put his hand in the viper's den.
32. they will not hurt or destroy on all My Holy Mountain,
33. the earth will be full of the knowledge of YHVH.
34. as the waters cover the sea,
35. come that Day nations will resort to the Root of Jesse.
36. Who will Stand as a Signal for the peoples,
37. His Resting Place will be Glorious.
