haggai, in an old format
1. in the 2nd year of darius the king.
2. on the 1st day of the 6th month.
3. the Word from YHVH came to the Prophet Haggai.
4. to Zerubbabel the son of Shealtiel governor of Judah and to Joshua the son of Jehozadak the High Priest Saying.
5. thus Says YHVH of Hosts. }}
6. this people are saying has the time not come even the time for the House for YHVH to be rebuilt?
7. the Word from YHVH came by Haggai the Prophet Saying.
8. is this time for you yourselves to dwell in your paneled houses while this House lies desolate?
9. now thus Says YHVH of Hosts consider your ways.
10. you have sown much but harvest little.
11. eat yet there is not enough to be satisfied.
12. drink yet there is not enough to become drunk.
13. you put on clothing yet no one is warm.
14. he who earns {{earns} wages puts them into a purse with holes.
15. thus Says YHVH of Hosts I Considered your ways.
16. go up to the mountains and bring wood.
17. rebuild My Temple that I may be pleased with this.
18. to be Glorified Said YHVH.
19. you look for much yet behold it comes to little.
20. when you bring home I Blow away and why Declares YHVH of Hosts.
21. because of My House which lies desolate.
22. while each of you runs to his own house.
23. therefore because of you the sky has withheld the dew.
24. earth has withheld the produce.
25. I Called for a drought on the Land and on the mountains.
26. on the grain new wine and oil.
27. on what the ground produces for man and for the cattle.
28. on all the labors of your hands.
29. Zerubbabel the son of Shealtiel and Joshua the son of Jehozadak the High Priest to all the remnant of the people.
30. obeyed the Voice of YHVH the CREATOR.
31. the Words of Haggai the Prophet as YHVH the CREATOR had sent.
32. the people showed reverence for YHVH.
33. Haggai the Messenger of YHVH spoke by the commission of YHVH to the people.
34. saying I Am with you Declares YHVH.
35. YHVH stirred up the spirit of Zerubbabel the son of Shealtiel the governor of Judah.
36. and the spirit of Joshua the son of Jehozadak the High Priest.
37. also the spirit of all the remnant of the people.
38. they came and worked on the House for YHVH of Hosts their CREATOR.
39. on the 24th day of the 6th month.
40. in the 2nd year of darius the king.
41. on the 21st of the 7th month.
42. the Word from YHVH came by Haggai the Prophet Saying.
43. speak now to Zerubbabel the son of Shealtiel the governor of Judah.
44. and to Joshua the son of Jehozadak the High Priest.
45. to the remnant of the people say.
46. who is left among you who saw this Temple in the former Glory?
47. how do you see it now?
48. does it not seem to you like nothing in comparison?
49. now take courage Zerubbabel Declares YHVH.
50. take courage also Joshua son of Jehozadak the High Priest.
51. all you people of the Land take courage Declares YHVH.
52. work for I Am with you Says YHVH of Hosts.
53. like the Promise which I made when they came out of egypt.
54. My Spirit is Abiding in your midst do not fear.
55. thus Says YHVH of Hosts once more in a little while.
56. I will Shake the heavens and earth.
57. the sea also and the dry land.
58. I will Shake all nations.
59. they will come with the wealth of all nations.
60. to fill this House for Glory Says YHVH of Hosts.
61. the silver is mine and the gold is mine Declares YHVH of Hosts.
62. the latter glory of this House will be greater than the former.
63. Says YHVH of Hosts of this place.
64. I shall Give peace Declares YHVH of Hosts. }}
65. on the 24th of the 9th month.
66. in the 2nd year of darius the Word from YHVH came.
67. Haggai the Prophet said.
68. thus Says YHVH of Hosts is asking now the Priests for a ruling.
69. if a male carries Holy Meat in the fold of his garment.
70. touches bread with this fold.
71. or cooked food or wine or oil or any other food will it become Holy?
72. the Priests answered saying no.
73. Haggai said.
74. if one who is unclean from a corpse touches of any of these will become unclean?
75. Priests answered.
76. saying it becomes unclean.
77. Haggai answered saying so is this people.
78. so is this nation before Me Declares YHVH.
79. so is every work of their hands.
80. what they offer there is unclean.
81. now consider from this day onward.
82. before one stone was placed on another in the Temple of YHVH.
83. of that time one came with a heap of 20 now 10.
84. one came to the wine vat to draw 50 measures now 20.
85. I Smote you and every work of your hands.
86. with blasting wind with mildew and hail Declares YHVH.
87. consider from this day onward.
88. from the 24th day of the 9th month.
89. from the day when the Temple of YHVH was founded.
90. consider the seed still in the barn even including the vine and fig tree.
91. the pomegranate and olive tree has not borne fruit.
92. yet this day I Bless you.
93. the Word from YHVH came.
94. a 2nd time to Haggai.
95. on the 24th day of the month.
96. Saying speak to Zerubbabel governor of Judah.
97. say I Am going to Shake the heavens and earth to overthrow the thrones of kingdoms.
98. to destroy the power of the kingdoms of nations.
99. I will overthrow the chariots with their riders and the horses and riders
100. going down everyone by the sword of another.
101. on that Day Declares YHVH of Hosts I will take you Zerubbabel.
102. son of Shealtiel My Servant Declares YHVH.
103. I will make you like a Signet Ring.
104. I have Chosen you Declares YHVH of Hosts.
