zechariah

in the 8th month of the 2nd year of darius,							
the Word from YHVH came to Zechariah the Prophet.
the son of Berechiah the son of Iddo,
Saying YHVH was Very Angry with our fathers.

Saying thus Says YHVH of Hosts return to Me,
proclaim to YHVH of Hosts that I may return to you.
Says YHVH of Hosts do not be like your fathers,
to whom the former Prophets did Proclaim.

saying thus Says YHVH of Hosts,
return now from your evil ways and from your evil deeds.
they did not listen,
or give heed to Me Declares YHVH.

for as your fathers where are they?
the Prophets do they live forever?
did not My Words and My Statutes,
which I Commanded by My Servants the Prophets overtake your fathers?

they repented and said,
do as YHVH of Hosts has purposed.
do to us in accordance with our ways and our deeds,
so deal with us.

on the 24th day of the 11th month,
which is the month shebat in the 2nd year of darius.
Word from YHVH came to Zechariah the Prophet,
the son of Berechiah the son of Iddo as follows.

i saw at night,
behold a male was riding on a red horse.
he was standing among the myrtle trees which were in the ravine,
with red sorrel and white horses behind him.

i said my lord what are these?
an angel answered saying i will show you what these are.
the male who was standing among the myrtle trees answered,
saying these are those whom YHVH has sent to go-forth on the earth.

they answered an angel from YHVH,
who was standing among the myrtle trees.
said we have gone-forth on the earth,
behold all the earth is peaceful and quiet.

an angel from YHVH spoke saying.
YHVH of Hosts how long will You have no compassion for Jerusalem?
{{the cities of Judah with which You have been indignant these 70 years?}
YHVH Answered the angel who was speaking with gracious words,
with comforting words the angel spoke saying.

proclaim saying thus Says YHVH of Hosts,
I Am Exceedingly Jealous for Jerusalem and Zion.
I Am Very Angry with the nations who are at ease,
for while I was only a little angry they furthered the disaster.

therefore thus Says YHVH,
I will return to Jerusalem with Compassion.
My House will be built Declares YHVH of Hosts,
a line will be stretched over Jerusalem again.

proclaim saying thus Says YHVH of Hosts,
My Citie will again overflow with prosperity.
YHVH will again comfort Zion,
and again choose Jerusalem.

i lifted up my eyes to see and behold 4 horns,
so i said to the angel who was speaking with me what are these?
he answered me these are the horns,
that which scattered Judah  Israel and Jerusalem.

YHVH showed me 4 craftsmen,
i said what are these coming to do?
he said these are the horns which have scattered Judah,
so that no male lifts up his head.

these have come to terrify them,
to throw down the horns of the nations.
those who have lifted up their horns against the Land of Judah,
in order to scatter them.

i lifted up my eyes and saw,
behold a male.
a measuring line in his hand,
so i said where are you going?

he said to measure Jerusalem,
to see how wide and how long.
behold the angel who was speaking with me was going out,
another angel was coming out to meet him.

saying run speak to that young male,
say Jerusalem will be inhabited without walls.
because of the multitude,
of man and cattle within Declares YHVH.




I will be a Wall of Fire around them,
My GLORY is in her midst.
ho there,
flee from the land of the north Declares YHVH.

I have scattered you to the 4 winds of the heavens Declares YHVH,
ho Zion  escape.
you who are living with the daughter of babylon,
thus Says YHVH of Hosts.

after Glory He sent Me against the nations which plunder you,
he who touches you touches the Apple of His Eye.
behold I will wave My Hand over them for plunder as slaves,
then you will know YHVH of Hosts has sent Me.

sing for joy and be glad daughter of Zion,
behold I Am Coming.
I will Dwell in your midst Declares YHVH,
many nations will join themselves to YHVH.

in that Day becoming My People,
for I will Dwell in their midst.
you will know YHVH of Hosts has sent Me,
YHVH will possess Judah.



His Portion in the Holy Land,
for I will again Choose Jerusalem.
be silent all flesh before YHVH,
for He is Aroused from His Holy Habitation.



He showed me Joshua the High Priest,
standing before an Angel from YHVH.
satan was standing at his right hand to accuse him,
YHVH Said satan.

YHVH Rebukes you satan,
indeed YHVH Who has Chosen Jerusalem rebukes you.
is this not a brand plucked from the fire,
now Joshua was clothed with filthy garments and standing before the Angel.

He Spoke Saying to who was standing before Him,
Saying remove the filthy garments.
again He Said see I have taken his iniquity away,
clothe him with {{ Festal } Robes.

He Said let them put a clean Turban on his head,
they put a clean Turban on his head.
so clothed him with Garments,
while an Angel from YHVH was standing by.

an Angel from YHVH testified to Joshua Saying,
thus Says YHVH of Hosts.



if you will walk in My Ways,
if you will perform My Service.
you will also govern My House,
also have charge of My Courts.
I will Grant you free access among these who are standing here,

now listen Joshua High Priest,
and friends who are sitting in front of you.

indeed you men a Symbol,
behold I Am going to bring My Servant Branch.
behold the Stone that I have set before Joshua,
One Stone with 7 Eyes.

behold I Engraved an Inscription Declares YHVH of Hosts,
I will remove the iniquity of the Land in One Day.
that Day Declares YHVH of Hosts,
every one will invite his neighbor under this Vine under this Fig Tree.



the angel who was speaking with me returned,
roused me as a male who is wakened from his sleep.
saying what do you see?
i spoke for i saw.

behold a lampstand all of gold with its bowl on the top of 7 lamps,
with 7 spouts belonging to each of the lamps which are on the top.
also 2 olive trees by it,
1 on the right side of the bowl and another on the left side.

i spoke saying to the angel who spoke,
saying what are these my lord?
the angel who spoke answered,
saying do you not know what these are?

i said no my lord,
he answered saying.
this is the Word from YHVH to Zerubbabel,
saying not by My Might nor by My Power.

but by My SPIRIT Says YHVH of Hosts,
what are you great mountain before Zerubbabel?
a plain when I bring forth the Top Stone with shouts of grace grace,
the Word from YHVH came to me Saying.

the hands of Zerubbabel have laid the Foundation of this House,
his hands will finish and you will know YHVH of Hosts has sent Me.
for who has despised the day of small things,
for These 7 will be glad when they see the plumb line in the hand of Zerubbabel.

These are the Eyes of YHVH,
which range to and fro throughout the earth.
i spoke saying what are these 2 olive trees?
at the right of the lampstand and at the left?

i spoke a 2nd time saying,
what are the 2 olive branches?
which are beside the 2 golden pipes,
which empty the golden oil from themselves.

he spoke saying do you not know what these are?
i said no my lord.
he said these are the 2 Anointed Ones,
who are standing by the LORD-of-all of the whole earth.

i lifted up my eyes again and saw,
behold there was a flying scroll.
he said what do you see,
i answered like i saw.

a flying scroll,
the length is 20 cubits and the width 10 cubits.
he said this is the Curse that goes forth,
over the face of the whole Land.

surely everyone who steals will be purged away,
according to the writing on 1 side.
everyone who swears will be purged away,
according to the writing on the other side.

I will make this go forth Declares YHVH of Hosts,
entering the house like a thief.
the house of the one who swears falsely by My Name,
remaining the night within that house consuming the timber and stones.

the angel who was speaking as we went out said,
lift up now your eyes and see what this is going forth.
i said what is this?
he said this is an ephah going forth.

he said this is their resemblance in all the Land,
{(behold a lead cover was lifted up)} this woman dwelling inside the ephah he said this is wickedness.
he threw her down into the midst of the ephah,
cast the lead weight on its opening.

i lifted up my eyes and looked,
2 women were coming out with the wind in their wings.
they had wings like the wings of a stork,
they lifted up the ephah between the earth and the heavens.

i said to the angel who was speaking with me,
where are they taking the ephah?
he said to me to build a temple for her in the land of shinar,
when this is prepared she will be set there on her own pedestal.

now i lifted up my eyes again and looked,
behold 4 chariots were coming.
coming from between the 2 mountains,
the mountains were bronze mountains.

with the 1st chariot were red horses,
with the 2nd chariot black horses.
with the 3rd chariot white horses,
with the 4th chariot strong dappled horses.

i spoke saying to the angel who spoke with me,
what are these my lord?
the angel answered saying to me,
these are the 4 Spirits of Heaven.

going forth after standing before the LORD-of-all of all earth,
of which the black horses are going forth to the north country.
the white ones go forth after them,
while the dappled ones go forth to the south country.

when the strong ones went out,
they were eager to go walk the earth.
he said go walk the earth,
so they walked the earth.

he cried out to me in speaking with me,
saying see those who are going to the land of the north.
will appease His Wrath in the land of the north, }}

the Word from YHVH came to me Saying,
take an Offering from the exiles of Heldai  Tobijah and Jedaiah.
go the same day and enter the house of Josiah,
to the son of Zephaniah where they have arrived from babylon.

take silver and gold and make a crown,
set this on the head of Joshua.
the son of Jehozadak the High Priest,
Say to him thus Says YHVH of Hosts.

behold a male whose name is Branch,
he will branch out from where He is.
he will build the Temple of YHVH,
yes this is he who will build the Temple of YHVH.

who will bear the honor and sit and rule on the throne,
thus he will be a Priest on the throne.
for counsel of peace will be between the 2 offices,
now the crown will become a reminder in the Temple of YHVH.

Helem  Tobijah  Jedaiah and Hen the son of Zephaniah,
those who are far off will come build the Temple of YHVH.
you will know YHVH of Hosts has sent me,
for this will take place if you completely obey YHVH your CREATOR.

came in the 4th year of king darius,
the Word from YHVH came to Zechariah.
on the 4th day of the 9th month which is chislev,
Bethel had sent Sharezer and Regemmelech with their men.

seeking the Favor of YHVH by speaking to the Priests,
those who belong to the House for YHVH of Hosts and to the Prophets.
saying shall i weep in the 5th month?
abstain as i have done these many years?

the Word from YHVH of Hosts came to me Saying,
say to all the people of the Land and to the Priests.
when you fasted and mourned in the 5th and 7th months,
these 70 years was this actually for Me that you fasted?

when you eat and drink,
did you not eat for yourselves?
did you not drink for yourselves?
are not these the Words which YHVH Proclaimed.

by the former Prophets,
when Jerusalem was inhabited and prosperous.
with cities around the negev,
the foothills were inhabited.

for the Word from YHVH came to Zechariah Saying,
thus has YHVH of Hosts Said.
dispense true and justice,
practice kindness and compassion to each his brother.

do not oppress the widow,
or orphan  or stranger  or poor.
do not devise evil in your hearts,
or against one another.

they refused to pay attention,
turned a stubborn shoulder.
stopped their ears from hearing,
making their hearts like flint.

so they could not hear the Law,
the Words which YHVH of Hosts had sent.
His SPIRIT through the former Prophets,
therefore Great Wrath came from YHVH of Hosts.

came just as Proclaimed,
for they did not listen so they called.
I did not listen Says YHVH of Hosts,
I scattered them with a storm wind.

among all the nations whom they have not known,
thus the Land is desolated behind them.
so no one went back and forth,
I made the Pleasant Land desolate.


the Word from YHVH of Hosts came to me Saying.
thus Says YHVH of Hosts.
I Am Exceedingly Jealous for Zion.
yes with Great Wrath I Am Jealous.

thus Says YHVH I will return from Zion.
I will Dwell in the midst of Jerusalem.
Jerusalem will be called the City of Truth.
as the Mountain of YHVH of Hosts will be called a Holy Mountain.

thus Says YHVH of Hosts.
old men and old women will again sit in the streets of Jerusalem.
each male with his staff in his hand because of age.
for the streets of the City will be filled with boys and girls playing in the streets.

thus Says YHVH of Hosts if this is too difficult in the sight of the remnant of this people.
that in those days will this also be too difficult in My Sight Declares YHVH of Hosts.

thus Says YHVH of Hosts behold I Am going to Save My People
{{ in the land of the east and in the land of the west.}
I will bring them back to live in the midst of Jerusalem.
they will be My People and I will be their CREATOR.
in Truth and in Righteousness.

thus Says YHVH of Hosts let your hands be strong.
to you who are listening in these days to these Words from the mouth of the Prophets.
in that Day of the Foundation of the House for YHVH of Hosts is laid.
to the end that the Temple might be built.

before those days there was no wage for male or any wage for animal.
for him who went out or came in.
there was no peace because of his enemies.
for I had set all man as one against another.

now I will not treat the remnant of this people as in the former days Declares YHVH of Hosts.
peace for the seed and the vine will yield fruit.
the Land will yield produce as the heavens give their dew.
I will cause the remnant of this people to inherit all these things.

come just as you were a curse among the nations. }}
house of Judah and house of Israel likewise I will Save you.
that you may become a blessing.
do not fear and let your hands be strong.

thus says YHVH of Hosts.
just as I Purposed to do harm when your fathers provoked Me to Wrath.
Says YHVH of Hosts so I have not relented. }}

therefore I again purpose in these days to do good to Jerusalem.
to the house of Judah so do not fear. }}

{{these are the things which you should do by speaking the truth to one another.
judge with truth and judgment for peace to be in your gates.

also let none of you devise evil in your heart against another.
do not love perjury for all these are what I Hate Declares YHVH.

the Word from YHVH of Hosts came to me Saying.
thus Says YHVH of Hosts.

the fast of the 4th the fast of the 5th the fast of the 7th and the fast of the 10th months.
will become joy gladness and cheerful feasts for the house of Judah so love truth and peace.

thus Says YHVH of Hosts this will yet be that peoples will come.
for even the inhabitants of many cities as the inhabitants of 1 will go with another.

saying let us go at once to entreat the Favor of YHVH.
to seek YHVH of Hosts i also will go.

so many peoples and mighty nations will come to seek YHVH of Hosts.
to Jerusalem to entreat the Favor of YHVH.

thus Says YHVH of Hosts in those days 10 men from all the nations will grasp the garment of a Jew.
saying let us go with you for we have heard the CREATOR is with you.}

the burden of the Word from YHVH,
is against the land of hadrach.
damascus is its resting place,
{(for the eyes of men especially of all the tribes of Israel are toward YHVH)}
hamath also which borders on tyre and sidon.

though they are very wise,
for tyre built for herself a fortress.
piled up silver like dust,
gold like the mire of the streets.

behold the LORD will dispose her,
cast her wealth to the sea for she will be consumed with fire.
ashkelon will see and be afraid,
gaza too will writhe in great pain.

also ekron for her expectation has been ashamed,
the king will perish from gaza and ashkelon will not be inhabited.
a mongrel race will dwell in ashdod,
I will cut off the pride of the philistines.

I will remove their blood from their mouth,
their detestable things from between their teeth.
they also will be a remnant for our CREATOR,
like a chief in Judah and ekron like a jebusite.

I will camp around My House because of the army,
because of him who passes by and returns.
no oppressor will pass over them anymore,
for now I have Seen with My Eyes.

rejoice greatly daughter of Zion,
shout in triumph daughter of Jerusalem.
behold your KING is Coming,
for He is Just and Endowed with Salvation.

Humble and mounted on a donkey,
even on a colt the foal of a donkey.
He will cut off the chariot from Ephraim,
the horses from Jerusalem.

for the bow of war will be cut off,
He will Speak Peace to the nations.
His Dominion will be from sea to sea,
from the rivers to the ends of earth.

also by the Blood of Covenant,
I  set prisoners free from the nothingless pit.
to return to the Stronghold,
the prisoners who have hope.

this very Day I Am Declaring,
I will restore double to you.
I will bend Judah as My Bow,
I will fill the bow of Ephraim.

I will stir up your sons Zion against the sons greece,
I will make you like a warrior's sword.

YHVH will Appear against them,
His Arrow will go forth like lightning.

LORD YHVH will blow the trumpet,

march in the storm winds of the south.
YHVH of Hosts will defend them,
they will devour and trample on the sling for stones.

{{they will drink to be boisterous as with wine.
they will be filled as the Basin as the corners of the Altar.}

YHVH the CREATOR will Save them that Day,
as a flock His People are as the stones of a crown sparkling in His Land.
what comeliness and beauty will be theirs,
grain will make the young men flourish and new wine for the virgins.

ask rain from YHVH at the time of the spring rain,
YHVH Who makes the storm clouds.
He will Give them showers of rain,
vegetation in the field to each male.

for the household idols speak iniquity, }}
the diviners see lying visions,
tell false dreams so comfort in vain.

therefore the people wander like sheep,
they are afflicted because there is no shepherd.
My Anger is kindled against the shepherds,
I will Punish the male goats.

YHVH of Hosts has visited His Flock,
the house of Judah He will make them like His Majestic Horse of Battle.
from them will come the Cornerstone,
from them the Tent Peg.

from them the Bow of Battle,
from them the Whole Ruler of them together.
He will be as mighty men treading down the enemy,
as mire of the streets in battle.

He will fight for YHVH,
so their riders on horses will be put to shame.
I shall strengthen the house of Judah,
I shall Save the house of Joseph.

I shall bring them back,
because I have had Compassion on them.
as though I had not rejected them,
for I Am YHVH the CREATOR and I will Answer them.

Ephraim will be like a mighty male,
their heart will be glad as if from wine.
indeed their children will see and be glad,
their heart will rejoice in YHVH.

I will whistle for them to gather together,
for I have Redeemed them for they will be as numerous as they were before.
as when I scatter them among the peoples and they remembered Me in far countries,
they with their children will live and come back.

I will bring them back from the land of egypt,
gather them from assyria.
I will bring them into the land of gilead,
to lebanon until no room can be found for them.

He will pass through the sea with affliction,
striking the waves in the sea so that all the depths of the nile will dry up.
the pride of assyria will be brought down,
the scepter of egypt will depart.

I shall strengthen them in YHVH,
in My Name they will walk Declares YHVH.
open your doors lebanon,
that a fire may feed on your cedars.

wail cypress for the cedar has fallen,
because the glorious trees have been destroyed.
wail oaks of bashan,
for the impenetrable forest has come down.

there is a sound of their shepherds' wailing,
their glory is ruined.
there is a sound of the young lions' roar,
the pride of the jordan is ruined.

thus Says YHVH the CREATOR pasture the flock set for slaughter,
those who buy them slay them and go unpunished.
those who sell them say blessed be YHVH for i have become rich,
their own shepherds have no pity on them.

I shall no longer have pity on the inhabitants of the Land Declares YHVH,
behold I shall cause the men to fall each into another's power.
into the power of a king and he will strike the Land,
I shall not deliver them from his power.

I pasture the flock set for slaughter,
hence the afflicted of the flock.
I took for myself 2 Staffs,
1 I Called Favor the other I Called Union so I pastured the flock.

I annihilated the 3 Shepherds in 1 month,
My Soul was impatient with them.
their soul also was weary of Me,
I Said I will not pasture what is to die let die.

what is to be annihilated be annihilated,
let those who are left eat one another's flesh.
I took My Staff Favor and cut in pieces,
breaking the My Covenant which I had made with all the peoples.

This was broken on that Day,
thus the afflicted of the flock who were watching Me.
realized This was the Word from YHVH,
I Said to them if this is good in your sight.

give me My Wages,
if not never mind.
so they weighed out 30 shekels of silver,
for My Wages.

YHVH Said throw them to the potter,
that magnificent price at which I was valued.
I took the 30 shekels of silver,
threw them to the potter by the House for YHVH.

I cut my 2nd Staff Union in pieces,
breaking the brotherhood between Judah and Israel.
YHVH Said take again for yourself,
equipment of a foolish shepherd.

behold I Am going to raise up a Shepherd in the Land,
Who will not care for the perishing or seek the scattered.
or heal the broken or sustain the one standing,
but will devour the flesh of the fat sheep and tear off their hoofs.

woe to the worthless shepherd who leaves the flock,
a sword will be on his arm and on his right eye.
his arm will be totally withered,
his right eye will be blind.

the burden of the Word from YHVH,
concerning Israel.
Declares YHVH Who stretches out the heavens,
lays the foundation of the earth and forms the spirit of man within.

behold I Am going to make Jerusalem a cup,
causing a reeling to all the peoples around.
when the siege is against Jerusalem,
this will also be against Judah.

come in that Day,
I will make Jerusalem as a heavy stone for all the peoples.
all who lift will be severely injured,
all the nations of the earth to be gathered against it.

in that Day Declares YHVH,
I will strike every horse with bewilderment and his rider with madness.
I will Watch over the house of Judah,
while I Strike every horse and all people with blindness.

{{ the chiefs of Judah will say in their hearts a strong support for us,
the inhabitants of Jerusalem through YHVH of Hosts the CREATOR.
in that Day I will make the chiefs of Judah like a firepot among pieces of wood,
a flaming torch among sheaves.

they will consume on the right hand and left,
all the surrounding peoples.
while inhabitants in Jerusalem again,
dwelling on their own sites by Jerusalem. }

{{ YHVH also will Save the tents of Judah,
the 1st in order for the glory of the house of David.
then the glory of the inhabitants of Jerusalem,
so as not to be magnified above Judah.}

in that Day YHVH will defend the inhabitants of Jerusalem,
the ones who are feeble among them.
in that Day they will be like David,
{{the house of David like sons-of-the-CREATOR.}
like the Angels of YHVH before Him.

come in that Day,
I will set about to destroy all the nations that come against Jerusalem.
I will pour out on the house of David,
on the inhabitants of Jerusalem the Spirit of Grace and Supplication.

so that they will look on Me Whom they have pierced,
they will mourn for Him as one mourns for an only son.
they will weep bitterly over Him,
like the bitter weeping over a 1st born.

in that Day there will be great mourning in Jerusalem,

like the mourning of hadadrimmon in the plain of megiddo.
the Land will mourn and every family by itself,
the family of the house of David by itself and their wives by themselves.

the family of the house of Nathan by itself and their wives by themselves,
the family of the house of Levi by itself and their wives by themselves.
the family of the Shimeites by itself and their wives by themselves,
all the families that remain every family by itself and their wives by themselves.

in that Day a Fountain will be opened for the house of David,
for the inhabitants of Jerusalem are sinful and impurity.
come in that Day Declares YHVH of Hosts,
I will cut off the names of the idols from the Land so they will no longer be remembered.

I will also remove the prophets and unclean spirit from the Land,
this will come that if anyone still prophesies.
his father and mother who gave birth will say,
you shall not live for you have spoken falsely in the Name YHVH.

{{his father and mother who gave birth.}
they will pierce him through when he prophesies,
also this will come in that Day.
the prophets will each be ashamed of his vision,
when he prophesies he will not put on a hairy robe in order to deceive.

he will say i am not a Prophet,
i am a tiller of the ground for a male sold me as a slave in my youth.
one will say to him what are these wounds between your arms,
he will say those with which i was wounded in the house of my friends.

awake sword against My Shepherd,
against the male My Associate Declares YHVH of Hosts.
strike the Shepherd that the sheep may be scattered,
or I will turn My Hand against the little ones.

this will come in all the Land Declares YHVH,
2 parts will be cut off and perish the 3rd will be left.
I will bring the 3rd part through the fire,
refine them as silver is refined.

test them as gold is tested,
they will call on My Name.
I will Answer them Saying they are My People,
they will say YHVH my CREATOR.

{{ behold a Day is coming for YHVH,
your spoil is taken and divided among them.
I will gather all the nations against Jerusalem to battle,
the City will be captured.

houses plundered the women ravished and half of the City is exiled,
the rest of the people will not be cut off from the City.
YHVH will go forth and fight against those nations,
as when He Fights in a Day of Battle.

in that Day His Feet will stand on the Mount of Olives,
{{ which is in front of Jerusalem on the east.}
Mount of Olives will be split in the middle,
from east to west like a very large valley.

half of the mountain will move toward the north,
the other half toward the south.
you will flee the valley by My Mountains,
{{ for the valley of the mountains will reach to azel.}

{{ yes you will flee just as you fled before the earthquake,
as in the days of Uzziah king of Judah.
then YHVH my CREATOR will come,
all the holy ones are with Him.

come in that Day,
there will be no light for the luminaries will dwindle.
this will be a certain Day which is known to YHVH,
neither day nor night.

come at evening time,
there will be LIGHT.
come in that Day,
that Living Waters will flow out of Jerusalem.

half toward the eastern sea the other half toward the western sea,
this will be in summer as well as in winter.
YHVH will be King over all the earth in that Day,
YHVH will be the Only One and His Name the Only One.

all the Land will be changed into a plain,
from geba to rimmon south of Jerusalem.
Jerusalem will rise and remain on this site,
from Benjamin's Gate as far as the place of the 1st Gate to the Corner Gate.

from the Tower of Hananel to the king's wine presses,
the people will live and no more a curse for Jerusalem will dwell in security.
now this will be the plague with which YHVH will strike,
